What are undisclosed energy broker commissions?

Many energy brokers add an extra margin to the energy rates they quote to businesses (for example, adding 1p or 2p per kWh). This margin is paid directly to the broker by the energy supplier as a commission.

If the broker did not fully disclose this commission, how it was calculated, and the exact amount they would receive, it is considered an undisclosed or hidden commission, which is legal grounds for compensation.
